Special Exhibition of “Korean Design: Transformation of Form” Held in Paris
12 November 2021
The National Hangeul Museum, in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center in France, is hosting the special exhibition Hangeul Design: Transformation of Forms at Exhibition Hall 1 of the Korean Cultural Center in France from September 22 to November 12. The Hangeul Experiment Project, which the National Hangeul Museum has been actively promoting since 2016, aims to explore and widely publicize the potential of Hangeul design based on the formative principles and characteristics of the Hangeul script. This special exhibition in France is part of the third installment in the Hangeul Experiment Project series. The exhibition focuses on the theme of 'form,' highlighting the concepts of 'combination' and 'modularity' that are inherent in the formative principles of Hangeul. Featuring 46 works by 22 teams of artists currently gaining attention in the design and art world, the exhibition explores graphic experiments with Hangeul's syllabic structure, its flexibility and modular combinability, as well as the craft-like beauty of Hangeul.
