VOLA 'TAP, TIME, TAP' Seoul Exhibition Opening Lecture

CAC’s curation brought the exhibition VOLA “TAP, TIME, TAP” to TACT, and at the opening, Sukwoo Lee spoke about the design significance of faucets from the perspective of an industrial designer. Objects at a 1:1 scale such as chairs, lighting, door handles, switches, and faucets are used constantly in daily life, making us sensitive to their form, color, and tactile qualities. From a technical standpoint, low tech products are particularly challenging because their basic architecture rarely changes, making it difficult to create something meaningfully better than existing products without refined design. Despite this, faucets remain a compelling object that continues to invite challenge and exploration, an idea Lee explored throughout his talk.
