This project was named 'Chimney Light’ because it looked like smoke coming out of a chimney. It was finished with elastic lycra material and CNC precision-processed wood. One of the two types can be opened with a leather strap on the back, making it convenient to replace the bulb. The other was covered with lycra. When working on various projects in a tense environment, we naturally tend to think rigidly. Also, once pure motivations become diluted and we end up finishing a project simply for the sake of completing the project. In order to stay loose and creative as designers, we work on SWNA projects (we call it Internal Projects) whenever we feel our hearts and minds stagnating.
First, I designed the piece with stockings, wire, and foam boards. Using a wire to create a three-dimensional structure, I put the lycra cloth with properties similar to stockings on top. Then, I made 1:1 prototype using actual production drawings.
