Proto Bench for Suum project
2012
This work is a sculptural approach that utilizes three-dimensional sketching to bridge the gap between two-dimensional and three-dimensional. We sketch on a flat surface, but the real-life environment is composed of three-dimensional objects. Drawing a solid on a plane and sketching a solid directly require different thought processes.
A wire is a flat line, but when bent, it transforms into a solid, making it a medium that can represent both the flat and the solid at the same time. Based on this characteristic, new sculptural possibilities and the boundary between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional were explored.
