Design Essay for Naver Designpress
06 March 2016
We wrote essays for Naver Designpress about the topics of inspiration for design, attitude toward design, and balance between caution and tension. The first essay is about designers' tastes in the section that introduces notable designers and artists in "Oh! Creator." The illustration was drawn by Noh Jun-gu. 01. What kind of design do you like? The second essay is about inspiration that is essential for designers. You can view the essay that likened inspiration to a sponge, through the link. 02. A bit embarrassing question: what inspires you? The third essay is about the purity of the motive for design and an interpretation of design as a play. We tell design as a play, not as a mission to finish. 03. Design is a play. The fourth essay is about the "copying" to which designers should be alert. It contains experiences about widespread design copying and the need to improve awareness. 04. Copying is the mother of creation who kills all her children (Chair chapter). The last essay is about a design to find a new balance by changing and breaking the balance. You can read the story about the non-typical and non-complacent design through the link.
