It is a theater chair for CGV 4DX, and the project required a year of thorough research and consumer survey from total branding strategies to production. The chair features the dynamic shapes and colors of the armrest and side cover to express the most important key direction ‘Dynamic Comfort’.
The side cover and back cover have LED lights facing downwards and reflected light on the bottom. It prevents dazzling and serves as a guiding light at the same time. The 4DX new concept design initially launched in 2017 was applied in a Buena Vista theater in LA and will be introduced in Seoul, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Beijing and New York.
In addition, it features a three-dimensional cushion designed for a comfortable watching experience. This is the outcome based on the ergonomic data analysis targeting the different age and gender subject groups.
The surfaces of all lights were designed with the detailed work and the calculation for creating the specific amount of light sources in harmony with the entire dynamic structure.
