SWNA participated in the first opening exhibition of Culture station Seoul. SWNA presented the Seoul station’s miniature made of the old leftover materials from the station’s construction Matter&Matter Seoul station collection series. This looks back on the culture and architecture history of past Seoul, as well as looks ahead to its future based on the historicity and placeness of Seoul station. Matter & Matter Furniture focuses on materials therefore, geometric shapes and curves were used for emphasizing the materials used.
The wood materials from the dismantlement of the Seoul Station have beautiful traces of time and culture. These materials were reinterpreted and incorporated in the Leg Furniture Series. The offcuts were processed with CNC machining to create the entire silhouette of a miniature of the Station.
