It was one of the Housing Fixture series to establish an interior identity of Daelim Industrial. We wanted to design square and large lighting fixtures that can be turned on/off easily, and thought that the Daelim Pyeonhansesang apartment’s philosophy "Sincere building" and "Direct proportion of a square" have something in common.
The switches, thermostats and socket-outlets were all designed as squares. We attempted to differentiate our products by applying a square shape rather than a common rectangle shape.
Daelim Industrial is a SWNA's long-time client. To apply objects in the space to experience, we designed all products for the apartments, such as switches, handles and wall-pads, security and safety systems, door locks, parking barriers and lighting. For the apartment design identity, SWNA proposed and established an integrated design strategy combining the layout of the apartment complex, moving line and service design by beginning to design the interior hardware and extending the design target beyond the buildings.
In 2011, it was common that celebrities appeared in apartment TV commercials. But, the appearance of the SWNA products in the e-Pyeonhansesang advertisement contributed to image building of the brand as much as the appearance of celebrities. This showed that products can also define a company's philosophy and direction. Since then, we had continued to handle the entire industrial design of the brand until 2015. SWNA proposed not only industrial designs but also systems and strategies for the apartment complexes, and this design method has been applied to other apartment brands. The Smart Janitor system is an all-in-one integrated user-friendly system designed for Daelim e-comfortable world residents. It is different from the traditional style of individually-styled parking block systems. Rather, it uses different color smart janitors for tenants and visitors to guide them along different movement lines.
