SWNA considered the lifestyle and product that would emerge when the urban farming form of ‘balcony gardens’ becomes common. The first change noticed with balcony gardening was the need to use fertilizers to manage the crops inside the house. Currently, only watering is needed to grow a plant, and there is a standardized watering can for this. However, with the new necessity of indoor-stored fertilizers, there will be a change required.
‘SCOOP’ represents a change in existing products due to this latest shift to ‘balcony gardens’. Unlike current products, the scoop-form sprinkler has convenient usability for scooping and sprinkling fertilizers. By performing both the functions of a watering can and a fertilizer sprinkler, ‘SCOOP’ can naturally blend into the way of living with ‘balcony gardens’.
